tcl chinese theatre, hollywood

speaking of iconic hollywood landmarks, one of the most iconic images of los angeles is the tcl chinese theatre, previously known as mann's chinse theatre and grauman's chinese theatre. the theatre opened in 1927, and has been home to some pretty incredible film premieres since then. but for the average tourist, the allure lies in the hand and foot prints of the rich and famous that are embedded in the concrete in front of the theatre. it's fun for us "normal people" to see how our hands and feet measure up to film greats like cary grant, harrison ford, and marilyn monroe. we also loved seeing the messages written in the 1920s and 1930s, with the actors and actresses all wishing sid grauman, the owner of the chinese theatre, a successful career.
