brooklyn meets the east river

every person who has ever lived in new york has a favorite borough: mine is brooklyn. it's gritty, interesting, and has spectacular graffiti. it's where i became an adult and realized i could survive in the real world. it's the place i want to visit when i'm in new york, if for no other reason than to walk down the streets and see what's changed. and it's the place i want to take rcg to most in the world.

we were in new york for a wedding back in september and had a couple of hours to kill, so we decided to walk around the bedford avenue stop, not my home turf, but a great neighborhood. we walked north, smelling mast brothers chocolate before we even got there, and then turned towards the east river, walking through bushwick inlet park taking in the views of manhattan's skyline. it was relaxing and peaceful and we reveled in putting our toes in the sand and listening to the sounds of waves on the rocks.
